本书以先秦两汉简帛医方为研究对象，按其主治功效，以现代医学分科为标准进行分类整理，如内科、外科、妇科、儿科、养生、五官科、皮肤科、房中、祝由等，从简帛医方的医疗内容、医疗方法、药物使用、医疗宜忌等方面对简帛医方进行了详细的分析，探寻中医传世源头，梳理中医经典脉络，促进简帛医方的普及和推广，助力提升现代临床研究水平。先秦两汉简帛医方研究是对中医学早期“经方”研究的重要补充，对于探源中医学理、法、方、药体系的构建，以及推动“简帛医学”的构建具有重要价值。本书通过分科整理、分条阐释，在一定程度上降低了阅读简帛医药文献的难度，即使是初学者阅读本书应该也是比较容易的。
本书分为三个部分。部分即章，从整体上对先秦两汉简帛医方的研究进行概述，同时还提出构建简帛医学体系。第二部分即第二章，是本书的主体部分之一，是按医方数量整理出各科医方并进行集成，将已出版的简帛医方中较为完整的方剂，按时间顺序进行排列，时间跨度从战国至东汉。第三部分即第三至第七章，是对内科、外科、养生、房中、祝由等五类医方的专门研究。
熊益亮，北京中医药大学中医医史文献专业博士，现任北京中医药大学国学院讲师，兼任中国哲学史学会中医哲学专业委员会秘书长、中华中医药学会中医药文化研究会青年委员会副主任委员、世界中医药联合会中医文化专业委员会理事。主要从事中国传统文化教学以及中医文献、中医药文化、中医哲学等科学研究。现主持北京市社科基金青年项目“北京民国医药卫生类档案整理与研究”，北京中医药大学科研项目“简帛医书中养生类医方文献整理与研究”，已完成北京中医药大学国学院课题“先秦两汉涉医简帛气血文献整理与研究”。
