张志坚教授为第四批全国老中医药专家学术经验继承指导老师，其治学严谨，医术精湛，从事中医工作60余年，擅长中医内科疑难杂病及妇科病的诊治，尤其对中医肾脏病的诊治深有研究。本书将张志坚临证医案，择其精粹予以汇集，张志坚教授不仅擅长肾系疾病的诊疗，对其他疾病的辨证论治亦颇有心得。全书以中医五脏为纲，中医病名为目，每病以辨证分型论治、立法选方，诊后附有按语。本书分为肺系病证、心系病证、脾胃病证、肝系病证、肾系病证、气血津液病证、肢体经络病证等章节，对中医的常见疾病以及优势病种如鼓胀、肿瘤、消渴等均有涉及。张志坚诊疗疾病坚持以中医思维为主，通过本医案可以很好地指导后学，故颇有临床价值。
张志坚，主任中医师，南京中医药大学教授、博士生导师，江苏省名中医，第四批全国老中医药专家学术经验继承指导老师，全国劳动模范，享受国务院政府津贴。1948年从武进国医专科学校肆业后，即在常州潘墅镇悬壶济世；1957年结业于现南京中医药大学的前身江苏省中医学校医科师资班，先后在河北中医学院、天津中医学院任教。1966年调入常州市中医医院从事临床工作，曾任大内科主任、肾内科主任。张志坚从医60余年，不仅理论功底深厚，且不断总结经验，相继在省级以上刊物发表文章40余篇，先后出版了养生保健丛书系列：《这样生活更健康——著名中医张志坚谈保健》《肾脏病患者如何生活得更好——著名中医张志坚谈肾脏病的调养》，参编《新编中医临证备要》。张福产，常州市中医医院副主任医师，常州市名中医，张志坚学术经验继承人。1989年毕业于南京中医学院，曾任肾内科科主任，及江苏省中医药学会肾病专业委员会委员。师从全国名老中医张志坚教授，从事中医治疗肾脏病临床工作48年。在核心期刊发表论文19篇，主编出版专著1部、出版科普书2本。获中华中医药学会科学技术奖三等奖一项，江苏省卫生厅医学新技术引进奖二等奖一项。2004年被卫生部授予全国卫生系统先进工作者称号。2008年获全国总工会一五劳动奖状奖章。本地报纸及杂志经常报道本人为传统中医的践行者。
